Last night I went to see Ratatat play at the Monte Cristo room with Anna, Max, Fran and Jack. Had a great time and really enjoyed the music – quite amazed at the energy of these two – and the fact they can keep people occupied for an entire set with no vocals.
Great cover of Lil Wayne’s song – awesome alternative lyrics – all shot in one take and audio recorded live.
Dope clip.
I laugh a lot every time I see this – just some dude who threw together some images and paintings to go with a demetri martin sketch. You just gotta watch!!
I can’t remember if I once before posted the teaser from Lakai’s Fully Flared skate video directed by Spike Jones… But anyway here is the sequence slightly reworked for UNKLE’s new one “Heaven”. I love artistic skate videos if you wanna check out another dope skate director peep Sebastien Abes’ vimeo page.
UPDATE: Can’t find heaven anymore on Vimeo – so here’s the intro for Fully Flared.
Our entry to last years 48hour film challenge:
Check out this short film from filmmaker Bruce Branit – lots of work in post production!
Hmm so they are making a live action film based on the manga series Dragon Ball – it already was made into an immensily popular television cartoon which sparked a massive media franchise including computer games and trading cards.
I reckon first off it would be better to cast an asian actor to play the lead (Goku) looks like a big chunk of the main cast are asian except bulma as far as I can see and it kinda just annoys me seeing a blonde american dude playing Goku. His Kamehameha is a bit weak!
I must say Lord Picollo does look pretty cool in the trailer and I’m keen to see how he is played – hope he doesnt end up just looking like some weird sea monstor. Also the dragonball’s themselves look pretty cool – Would be an awesome prop to get your hands on methinks!
Lastly… everyones so … goofy in the cartoon.. Ibet they’ll do away with that aspect in this film but funnily enough thats what I really loved in the cartoon and I’m sure many others did too..
Your thoughts?
Been working on a few cool things lately including the second documentary for The Outlook for Someday and also some exciting new plans for 2009!
Stay tuned I guess.
